What we look for
Publishing our criteria saves everyone time. If you read this and recognise your business, the conversation is likely to be productive. If you read it and know it is not you, we have saved you an email — and we would rather do that than string you along.
What fits
Recurring, contracted revenue
Subscription or long-term contracted revenue with demonstrable renewal history. We are far more interested in revenue that repeats than revenue that was large once.
A defensible position in a specific vertical
Software that owns a workflow inside a defined industry, where switching is genuinely painful and the customer relationship is long-tenured.
Real AI upside
Meaningful manual effort somewhere in the workflow — yours or your customers' — that we can compress with AI. This is where we add the most value.
Proprietary data
Data accumulated through years of operating that a new entrant could not simply assemble, and that you have the contractual right to use.
Honest, working financials
You do not need audited accounts. You do need to know your numbers and be able to explain them without reconstructing them from scratch.
A founder who wants a good outcome for the team
The conversations that work best are with founders who care what happens after they leave. So do we.
Sectors we know well
We are not sector-agnostic. These are the areas where we have operating experience and existing portfolio companies, which means our help is worth more than capital alone.
Where we operate
Our deal team is in Dubai, our engineering bench is in Vancouver, and our capital markets and exit work runs out of New York. We look hardest at businesses connected to those three markets.
What does not fit
- Pre-revenue or pre-product companies — we are not a seed investor and cannot help at that stage
- Businesses whose revenue is entirely project-based consulting with no recurring component
- Companies where the intellectual property is not owned by the entity being sold and cannot be assigned
- Situations requiring an immediate decision without any diligence — we will always decline these
- Businesses outside software and technology-enabled services
- Companies where the only asset is a general-purpose AI wrapper with no data, distribution, or workflow position
