Capital, an engineering bench, or a clean exit
Founders reach us at very different points. Some want money. Some want engineering help they cannot hire fast enough. Some are simply done and want a good home for what they built. All three are conversations worth having.
Three ways this can go
You want capital, not an exit
You have a working business and a real, capital-constrained opportunity in front of you. We invest and stay involved — without a fund clock forcing a sale in five years.
- Minority or majority positions, structured around what you actually want
- Partial founder liquidity is a normal part of the conversation, not a taboo
- No mandated exit date — we are permanent capital, not a fixed-life fund
You want the engineering bench, not just money
Capital is rarely the binding constraint. More often it is AI engineering capacity you cannot hire fast enough. Our Vancouver team builds the shared platform layer our portfolio runs on.
- Access to the same AI engineering bench our portfolio companies use
- A shared playbook for rebuilding a product on an AI-native core
- Practical help with the parts founders usually get stuck on
You are ready to hand it over
You want liquidity and a clean handover to people who will keep operating the business rather than stripping it. We buy to hold, so continuity is the plan rather than the pitch.
- Buy-and-hold intent — no plan to flip the business again in five years
- Straight answer on fit early, so you are not tied up in a process going nowhere
- Structures that avoid loading your value into contingent earnouts
How the process runs
The most common complaint founders have about processes is not the price. It is being strung along. We try hard to give a clear answer early.
A first conversation
Thirty minutes, no materials required, under NDA if you prefer. We are trying to work out whether there is a fit worth exploring — and we will tell you plainly if there is not.
A view on fit and value
If it looks promising, we come back with an honest view of how we see the business, what we think we could do with it, and the shape a deal might take.
Confirmatory work
Financial, technical, and legal review. We tell you upfront what we need so you are not answering an open-ended stream of questions for months.
Close, then the first 90 days
Every company we take on ships an AI capability inside 90 days of close. That plan is written before we sign, not improvised afterwards.
What you can expect from us
Confidentiality by default
We will sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive. Nothing you tell us reaches your team, your customers, or your competitors.
A straight no
If we are not the right fit we will say so quickly, and where we can we will point you toward someone who is.
No fund clock
We are permanent capital. There is no limited partner requiring us to sell your business by a particular date.
Operators, not just capital
Our Vancouver engineering team works inside portfolio companies. The support is real work, not a quarterly board deck.
Not sure which of the three you want?
That is normal, and it is a good reason to talk rather than a reason to wait. Most founders arrive undecided and leave the first conversation clearer — whether or not they end up working with us.
